Syncing Tripleseat Leads to HubSpot's Leads Object
Last updated: November 2, 2026
By default, a new Tripleseat lead arrives in HubSpot as a contact plus a deal in your events pipeline, sitting in a "Lead" stage. If your team uses HubSpot's Leads object, you can switch so Tripleseat leads arrive as HubSpot Leads instead. Your deal pipeline then holds only real events, and your forecasting isn't cluttered by unqualified inquiries.
The switch is optional and free for existing Tripleseat customers.
What changes
Default | With the Leads object | |
|---|---|---|
New Tripleseat lead | Contact plus a deal in the events pipeline at a "Lead" stage | Contact plus a HubSpot Lead, associated with the contact and company |
Where leads are worked | Deal pipeline | HubSpot's lead pipeline |
Lead converts to an event | The same deal moves through the event stages | The event syncs as a deal, associated with the original Lead |
Before you switch
HubSpot edition: the Leads object requires a HubSpot Sales Hub edition that includes it (Professional or Enterprise).
Turn on Leads in HubSpot: make sure the Leads object is enabled in your portal.
Reauthorize HubSpot: the integration needs permission to read and write leads, so you'll be asked to reauthorize the HubSpot connection once.
To switch, contact us at support.syncsmart.io and we'll turn it on for your account.
How leads sync after the switch
New leads in Tripleseat create HubSpot Leads, associated with the contact and company at creation, in HubSpot's lead pipeline.
Contacts are matched on email address. A lead without an email is tracked by its Tripleseat lead ID.
Converted leads: when a lead becomes an event in Tripleseat, the event syncs as a deal associated with the original Lead, so you can report from first inquiry to booked event. The Lead moves to Qualified.
Turned-down leads move to Disqualified.
Owners: if the Tripleseat owner's email matches a HubSpot user, that user becomes the owner. If there's no match, the owner is left blank and the record still syncs.
Timing: changes sync every 5 minutes.
What happens to existing lead deals
The switch is a clean cutover. Leads created after the switch go to the Leads object; lead deals that already exist in your events pipeline aren't converted automatically.
If you want past leads in the Leads object too, a historical sync can bring them over from a start date you choose. Once that's done, you can remove the old lead-only deals, the "Lead" deal stage and the Tripleseat Lead property group from HubSpot. Deals for events, and their owners, aren't affected.
