Using SGA + HubSpot Data for Reports and Lists

Last updated: January 21, 2026

This article explains how to use data from the SGA + HubSpot integration to build effective reports and segments (lists) inside HubSpot.

Overview

The SGA integration adds new properties, objects, and associations to HubSpot. These allow you to:

  • Segment Contacts based on membership data

  • Report on member activity and status

  • Build audiences for marketing, operations, and analytics

To get the most value, you’ll want to understand where the data lives and how objects relate to each other.

1. Review SGA Properties on Standard Objects

The integration creates new properties on standard HubSpot objects (such as Contacts and Deals). These properties are grouped for easy discovery.

What to do:

  • Go to Settings → Properties in HubSpot

  • Filter by property group and look for groups that titles begin with “SGA ...”

  • Review the available fields and their definitions

These properties can be used directly in:

  • Lists (segmentation)

  • Reports

  • Workflows

  • Views

2. Use the SGA Members Custom Object

The integration also creates a custom object called SGA Members. This object represents individual members and acts as the primary record for membership-specific data.

Contacts are associated with SGA Member records. This means you can build lists that reference data stored on the custom object.

Example use case:

You can build a list of Contacts who are associated with SGA Members where:

  • Membership Status = "A" (which stands for Active)

This allows you to target communications, reporting, or automation only to active members.

How to build this in HubSpot Lists:

  • Create a new Contact-based list

  • Add a filter for Associated SGA Member

  • Choose a property such as Membership Status

  • Set the condition (e.g., is equal to Active)

3. Segment Using SGA Membership Registrations (Deals)

The integration also syncs data into the Deals object under the pipeline or timeline called SGA Membership Registrations.

Deals in this area represent membership-related activity and contain their own set of integration-managed properties.

You can build segments based on:

  • Contacts associated with Deals in the SGA Membership Registrations pipeline

  • Deal properties found under the SGA Member Registrations property group

Example use cases:

  • Contacts associated with a completed registration

  • Contacts tied to registrations in a specific stage

  • Contacts associated with recent membership activity

To use this data in lists:

  • Create a Contact-based list

  • Add filters based on Associated Deals

  • Select Deal properties from the SGA Member Registrations property group

4. Comparing SGA Properties to Legacy Fields

If you previously used legacy fields (for example, from an earlier integration), you may need to update your lists and reports.

Recommendation:

  • Compare the new SGA properties with your existing legacy properties

  • Identify which new fields replace or improve upon the old ones

  • Update your lists, reports, and workflows to reference the new SGA fields where appropriate

This ensures your segmentation and reporting continue to reflect the most accurate data.
